Nothing is worse that dealing with pesky tangles after washing your hair. The pulling, the tugging, the inevitable ouch as your brush battles through the knots – it’s a whole ordeal.
Enter the Fable & ManeMaha Mane Detangling Leave-In Conditioner – a true multitasking hair hero here to make wash days a little easier on you. Not only is this a detangler – it is also a frizz fighter, adds hydration back in to your hair, and also serves as a heat protectant for up to 450 degrees.
Let’s get in to some of the key ingredients:
– Aloe Vera: Hydrates your hair and locks in moisture.
– Amla: A vitamin C rich berry that conditions and naturally provides UV protection.
– Red Hibiscus: A flower rich in AHA’s to give hair shine and helps it radiate.
My Experience Using It on My Fine 3A Curls
I decided to use this on a wash day, without layering on any other product to really put it to the test. And honestly? I was impressed! My hair felt noticeably softer as soon as I worked it in, and the slip was real. Detangling was fast and effortless. No snags, and no pain!
My curls felt hydrated and not weighed down at all, which is so important for my hair. I also love the fact that it is a heat protectant as well, since I tend to diffuse my curls rather than air dry most of the time.
Let’s Talk About the Scent
One thing I do want to point out is the fragrance. Personally, I LOVE the way it smells—it’s warm, cozy, and feels a little luxurious. But if you’re someone who’s sensitive to scent, this may not be for you. It is definitely noticeable and lingers for a couple of days.
According to Fable & Mane, the fragrance is:
A majestically warm spice blend of Indian saffron and nutmeg, paired with midnight rose damascena and Indian jasmine sambac, with a touch of incense and sandalwood for an unexpected richness and depth.

Final Thoughts
I love that this product truly gets my curls. It hydrates, detangles like a dream, and feels gentle enough to use regularly. If you’re looking for something that does more than just detangle – and you don’t mind a strong fragrance – this one’s definitely worth a try. I have added this product to my Benable page if you’d like to save it for later or browse the rest of my curly hair favorites.
Have you tried it? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
