An Evening at the Whitney Museum

Richmond Barthé, African Dancer, 1933

Last Friday, I had the chance to go to the Whitney museum. I was really looking forward to it, being that I have never been there before! On Friday evenings, you can “Pay What You Wish” from 7-10pm, and my date and I took advantage of that opportunity. If you do decide on going on a Friday evening, be prepared for a very long line to get in! Don’t let that discourage you, it moves along quickly.

The Whitney is filled with amazing American contemporary art. The museum is located in the Meatpacking District right next to the Highline, so you can definitely make a day out of it if you wish!

The gallery below shows the pieces that I loved (there are plenty more, but don’t want to ruin your visit!). You should definitely take time to go if you haven’t already!

Have you been to the Whitney? What did you enjoy about it?
